Steve Kenny

Born in 1947 in Ottawa, Ontario, Steve was educated at the Musee de Beaux Arts in Montreal, Quebec where he did independent studies, and at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario. After leaving art school, Steve worked as a photo-retoucher and then apprenticed as an architectural illustrator. His sense of perspective is ever present, partly due to his experience of being an architectural illustrator. It was during this period that he first picked up an air brush and has continued to use and perfect this technique. To get precisely what he is trying to achieve in his work, he combines the air brush and painting with acrylics to produce truly remarkable and breathtaking images.

In the early 1980`s, Steve set the trend for floral posters in North America. In fact, he received international recognition for his floral images. In 1985 he received an award for design excellence from Prints Magazine, an American Art Trade publication.
