Ricardo Rumi

Ricardo Rumi was born in Oakville, Ontario in 1960. After graduation from High School, Ricardo followed his passion for antique furniture to London, England where he learned the art of Antique restoration and conservation at the prestigious firm of Restall Brown & Clennell. After years of intense study Ricardo returned to Ontario, Canada to found his own firm Richard Rumi & Co. Inc. Having spent the better part of his life building his career Ricardo discovered painting as an outlet for his daily work related stress. He would retire to his studio for hours, sometimes painting long into the night. The result was a series of works that mirrored Abstract Expressionism but emulated Ricardo’s decompression at the end of the day. As a result Relaxationism was born. Ricardo has combined his skills as a Master Finisher and his thorough knowledge of colour with his artistic abilities to produce powerful, energetic canvases in this, his relaxationist style.
