Michael Sean

Born in Bucharest, Romania, Michael Sean embraced the fine arts at an early age. Taking drawing and painting as an elementary and then high school student, he pursued his passion while working towards his master’s degree in architecture, which he later obtained from the University of Bucharest.

Upon arriving in Toronto, in 1989, his career moved towards the new media, digital set design and graphics for architectural firms, trade shows and computer game publishers. Meanwhile, he kept working constantly in traditional media – ink, pencil and chalk – and later opened-up to canvas and to ampler, structured compositions.

Personal influences range from the dynamism of the 1920’s Russian constructivists to the sensitivity of the great masters of the Renaissance, from continental Art Nouveau to De Stijl.
