Ingrid Schienke

 

Ingrid was born in Montreal, Quebec in 1960. Her interest in art developed at an early age and by the time she reached secondary school, spent much of her time completing commissions from fellow classmates.

Following college, she began a career as a freelance illustrator and mural artist. Although very involved in the visual arts, Ingrid recently began to study 19th and 20th century painting at the University of Toronto.

Ingrid's original mixed-media collages and paintings are inspired by the history and romance of the past while incorporating the rich textures and colours of the present. Her current style fuses her deep love of traditional painting with an equal passion for the vibrancy of modern life.
